Pink Ribbon Girls’ mission is to provide meals, housecleaning, rides to treatments, and peer support to families of cancer patients, all at a volunteer basis. Bockrath’s is proud to support this cause. Doug and Erin Bockrath
In 2014, Bockrath Flooring and Rugs wanted to do more outreach for the community. Doug Bockrath found a wonderful organization, We Care Arts in Kettering, OH. We Care Arts is a program that assists challenged students to express their creativity through art. We felt this was a great partnership as our rugs are a work of art and can be displayed that way in one’s home.
In 2016, Bockrath Flooring collaborated with We Care Arts for our 1st annual Rug Design Contest. Local students from the area created a drawing on paper using up to 4 different colors from a color board. Bockrath’s narrowed down the almost 80 entries and selected our “Final Four”. We then went to social media to ask the public to vote for the winning design.
Our Rug Artisans then replicated the drawing into a 5x7 rug that is auctioned off at the We Care Arts annual Spring Fundraiser held in March. All the proceeds from the rug go directly back to We Care Arts! Don’t worry, our contest winner receives a 3x5 rug of their rendering as a keepsake. It’s a wonderful way to show one’s art and creativity made into a rug.
Bockrath Flooring is proud to be a part of this organization along with the Spring Auction, We Care Arts hosts several fundraisers throughout the year that Bockrath’s participates in.
2018 Design Contest Winner:
Our 3rd annual contest winner is Beth from We Care Arts. She drew this floral design that is perfect for the 35th Anniversary We Care Arts Spring Auction! This 5x7 Rug will be auctioned off live that evening to the highest bidder. We can't wait to see who the lucky winner is and what room the rug will go in their home... STAY TUNED for more pictures! Congratulations Beth and all that support We Care Arts.
