You never know what our Rug Artisans will be up to in the Custom Rug Studio. It seems that they are always beginning a new project. “That’s what makes this job fun, every day is different, no project is ever the same!” says our Rug Artisan Gina. When you visit the Custom Rug Studio, located in the back of the Bockrath showroom, our artisans will welcome you in and tell you all about what they’re working on.
Recently Gina completed a large rug for a customer’s great room. The customer came to Bockrath specifically for our Custom Rug Studio. Her room had an angled fireplace in one corner that always caused a problem when finding a rug to fit properly. After the customer selected the carpeting for her rug Gina created it to the exact size needed, and used her hand binding technique to finish the edges. Instead of figuring the angle and making the cut without the rug in place Gina decided that she would make the cut on delivery day to ensure the perfect fit.

The day of delivery our team laid out the new rug and assisted in putting the furniture back in place. Once the rug was placed Gina was able to make the perfect cut along the angle of the fireplace. She finished the edge with a hand binding to match the other sides.
With Gina’s customizations our customer’s rug fits perfectly in her room without interfering with the angle of the fireplace. Many of our customers have homes with little interferences like this.
