Is it a busy room, with heavy foot traffic? Is it in a nursery or another room where sound absorption is especially important? Does anyone use a wheelchair or walker?
It’s important to have all of this information, since some carpet grains lie a bit differently, depending upon style, so if you have all of this information, you can get the most accurate estimate of how much material you’ll need.

Does the warranty have specific requirements about padding, cleaning or anything else?
It’s a good idea to know this since failure to comply, even if you didn’t know, can mean a void warranty.
Is there a charge to dispose of old carpet?
Yes, usually, but the amount will depend upon how well you prepare. Ask your flooring store what they require.
